The Beginning....

I wanted to upload some photographs of a leather chair I had painted with Annie Sloan paint, but realised I needed somewhere to post them, so they were accessible to Pinterest. So, here we go.

I love renovating furniture, whatever its shape or size, whether its painting, sanding and repolishing or reupholstering it.  Almost anything can be improved with some love and attention.  Watch this space.

Renovation of office chair with Annie Sloan paint.

This chair had seen better days.  Not an antique, but the arms had holes that had been patched with leather from a black glove.  Not a good look, but it stopped the foam filling from oozing out.  I decided to redecorate the room it was in, that had been dark green with dark wood furniture. It would not go with my new colour scheme of creams, white and blue. Nothing to lose, so I set to with the trusty Annie Sloan. I mixed the first coat with some Louis blue and Anthracite, because they were left-overs. Second coat was Old Violet, which is not violet at all, but a muted blue. When the paint had dried, I used Annie Sloan Clear Wax put on with a cloth, and a brush to get into the buttoned bits. It buffed up so easily and here is the result. It looks gorgeous and the leather is still soft.  The paint does not come off either!
